Legal Question in Constitutional Law in District of Columbia

Sealed court records

Why do judges seal court evidence and cases for long periods of time such as the killing of JFK? There are other cases on a lower level that have been sealed as well. I am not talking about a case where minors are involved.

Re: Sealed court records

I am not aware of any "sealed court evidence" concerning the assassination of JFK. Virtually all of the evidence in this matter is now a matter of public record, including, even the autopsy report and photos. This is more popular myth fostered by such fictional portrayals as Oliver Stone's movie concerning the matter, which is historical balderdash.

And, yes, as one who has studied JFK's assassination since it ocurred on November 22, 1963, I can tell you that Lee Harvey acted all by his lonesome in this sorry affair, despite the historically goofy (and shamefully inaccurate)portrayal of New Orleans prosecutor, "Big Jim" Garrison by Kevin Costner in the aforementioned movie which naturally suggests otherwise.
