Legal Question in Consumer Law in District of Columbia

My Car Title

I purchased a car a few years ago and never received my title, now the place from which I brought my vehicle are ignoring all of my attempts to get my title, they keep avoiding me and not returning any messaging. What should I do?

Re: My Car Title

You should go in person to the business that sold you the vehicle to find out what's going on.

If after these efforts you still are unable to secure a title from those who sold you the vehicle, you can make application with the Motor Vehicle Department for a replacement title, explaining why this is necessary.

Re: My Car Title

If you've paid the vehicle off go to the DMV and get a duplicate title. . . the process takes a while, but you will have a new title for your vehicle.
