Legal Question in Consumer Law in District of Columbia

Service exceeded estimate cost continued

The agreement was oral with the owner-it was an estimate. I told him Bestbuy was coming so I was asking him what he would charge -seeing if the price was worth it. I ended up canceling the stop check payment. I wasn't sure if this was the right course of action. I thought I should just take them to small claims court if they don't refund me some of the money-also file with the DA's office consumer complaint, Better business bureau and State Licensing board. I have never stopped a check payment. Do you think I should do the stop check payment? Thanks

Re: Service exceeded estimate cost continued

If your request for a stop payment order was already in place, I would not have subsequently canceled it.
