Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in District of Columbia

providence hospital error and they obtained wrongful judgement

i was in an accident in 1999 was taken to er and form then on was harrassed by hospital about payment. i had active ins coverage at time but they said i didnt. i kept giving them policy number and even showed up to court date to give them policy # and was told to go home it would be taken care of. i didnt know they had still went and got judgement on later date. after seeing on credit report in 2005 i contacted hospital they still had wrong info about ins.then i contacted ins co. they sent me paid claim info on accident. i called providence hosp was told to pay by their coll agency in order to have removed from credit report. then i took claim info to patient account manager and she said it was error on hospital part, they have 2 separate in house systems that have trouble communicating with each other and tehy are aware of problem but she would take care of it. i asked if they were aware of problem why wasnt it research snd handled before i was sued and why am i being treated like i owe them when they were paid? judgement is still on credit report they reversed it in maryland where wage garnishment was filed but not in district of columbia where original judgement was entered. what can i do this has going on for over 7 years?

Re: providence hospital error and they obtained wrongful judgement

You may have a cause of action against the hospital under the FDRCA and related statutes for damages (assuming that you're still within the applicable statute of limitations).
