Legal Question in Criminal Law in District of Columbia

problem with an ex

I had a guy i was seeing for a while and we went out drinking and when i woke up my 1300 dollars in cash was gone (im a bartender and I didn't get a chance to go to the bank). He is a shady character and is threating, but I want my money back. What should I do, I do not want him to disrupt my job or my roommates job (because I also have a professional job as well). I also found out that is a drug dealer, should have known that one. Is there a good way to go about this or should I just cut my losses

Re: problem with an ex

Assuming that you have already requested from this

shady character the return of your missing funds and he has either refused (or obviously denied knowing anything about it), then you could sue him in DC Small Claims and Conciliation Court for the $1300 plus court costs.
