Re: question on h1 transfer

Dear Inquirer:

The approval of an H-1B petition should be valid for three years from the date of approval. You may generally remain in the US in H-1B status for up to 6 years, including extensions and changes of status, but then would have to leave the US for one year before being readmitted in H-1B status.

You may possibly seek extensions beyond the 6th year if you are in the process of obtaining permanent resident status through an employment offer.

Until next year and then you can apply for a three year extension.
