Can a Company Hold Final Pay Check for...??

Friend gave proper notice and left a company recently. Is it legal for the company to hold his final pay check because he has not returned all emails from his employment? Friend says he deleted all of them before he left.

Tell your friend he or she can sue the former employer for the amount of the last check in small claims court for less than $40.
