IT Contractor

i am a contractor on assignment & my company is trying to force me to take a 10% pay cut. Can they force me to do this & if I refuse can they fire me?

Yes, they can (force as well as fire) unless you're working under the protection of a contract which would prohibit such action on the part of the company. (FYI, DC is also a so-called employment at will jurisdiction.)
