Legal Question in Employment Law in District of Columbia

Can my current employer solicit possible employment status from another employer? My current contract is ending with my employer and a competitor has tabled an offer for my services. Can my current employer go to the competitor and get information if I am taking a job with them (start date, salary, etc.)?

There is no law that prevents competing companies from sharing information (start date, salary, etc.) regarding your employment. However, private health care information may be protected.

Best of luck.*****The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.******
