Legal Question in Legal Ethics in District of Columbia

What area of law does my problem fall under?

I was forced to resign a Civil Service position overseas due to gross negligence and falsification of an official document, among other incompetent acts, on the part of a US Army representative. I intent to pursue this matter legally, which brings me to my question: when searching for a lawyer, what area of law does this fall under? I have no idea which kind of lawyer handles this sort of case.

It sounds like it may fall within the federal tort claims act which makes the matter time sensitive. There is a tolling period which requires first sending a letter of demand and waiting six months before you can proceed with a lawsuit. Since you're in Florida, there are a number of Florida attorneys, particularly in the Pensacola area, that are former military lawyers who could help you or point you in the right direction. Since the matter is time sensitive, I would not tally about in pursuing your claim.

good luck and best wishes
