Legal Question in Personal Injury in District of Columbia

Can a bouncer/employee of a nightclub really do this?

The whole situation basically starts with my boyfriend being drunk after the club. We were waiting for our car from valet, and my boyfriend was already mad about a drunk guy pushing us as we waited. When the valet guy came, my boyfriend asked, ''Is my car good?'' and the guy replied. ''I don't know.'' My boyfriend grabbed him and said, ''What do you mean you don't know? You drove it.'' I tell the valet guy to not mind my boyfriend because he was drunk, and next thing you know the guy throws the receipt in my boyfriend's face. That made my boyfriend mad so he pushed him. All of the sudden all these big bouncers come and my boyfriend is saying that he just wanted to know if his car was good and the guy decided to throw the receipt to his face. The valet guy is saying he deserved it for acting like a jerk. So they yell back and forth with the bouncers in the quarrel too, and my boyfriend finally gets in the car. However, he rolls his window down to still talk trash, and all the sudden the smallest bouncer walks to the window and slaps his face, another bouncer pulls him out, and another kicks him in the face. That's when i slid in and yelled at them to back up, and that he is drunk so why were they doing this. He was already in the car.

Why, you ask, were they doing what they were doing to your boyfriend? Probably, because they were tired of hearing him "talk trash" which, apparently, according to you, he was talking quite a lot of on that particular night.
