Legal Question in Sexual Harassment in District of Columbia

sexual discrimination - multi state

Hi -

I lost a job in Aug of 04 because I would not sleep with my boss. (Retaliation) Prior to losing my, I worked for another supervisor who was sexually harrassing me and also not paying me equal to others with the same amount of responsibilities. So, I think there are several major areas of violation including 2 acts of retaliation by two different individuals, sexual discrimation in the form of being paid lower wages, and also sexual harrassment where I was subjected to inappropriate language and behavior from my supervisor. The company was national firm and my job was national. I was officed in DC and Maryland and worked in many other states. The acts of sexual retaliation did not occur in a specifc place. The acts of sexual harrassment occured in about 10 different states. The reduced and/or underpaid wages did not occur in any particular state. I filed with the DC office of Human rights as well as the Montgomery County Maryland office os Human Services within 1 year which is their cut off. The groups would have cross filed but my filing date of one year which was their deadline was beyond the filing date of the EEOC of 300 days. If these jurisdictions investigate and find resonable evidence of unlawful behavior

Yes, if your question is do you have a case for a violation of federal antidiscrimination law(sexual harassment), it would appear from your description of matters that you do, and, if the matter is still pending before the EEOC, once they issue you a right to sue letter, that you will then be able to file your case in the appropriate federal court.( I assume that the same would apply if either of the local human rights agencies which you mentioned also issues findings supporting your claims.)
