My mother will

My mother was a will in she stated in her will that, I GIVE AND DEVISE A LIFE ESTATE IN MY REAL PROPERTY AT CONGRESS PL. S.E TO MY DAUGHTER--name removed--LIPSCOMB. Now can you tell me what dose that mean,because my brother is staying with me in i want him out,but he said that i can not put him out,because he said the house don' belone to me.

A "Life Estate" means that you have possession of the premises for the length of your life. After you pass the premises reverts to other heirs. If your brother is not on the Life Estate he may not reside there without your permission.
