Is there a statute of limitations on when a person can claim an inheritance against an estate in the District of Columbia?

My daughter's father and my ex-husband died without leaving a will( or we could not locate his will, in February 2006

I am not aware of any such limitation in DC, but if the intestate estate (no will)

has already been administered and closed, it could be difficult.
