Legal Question in Traffic Law in Florida

Error in time on Traffic Citation

I received 3 traffic citations at 8:58 am but the tickets all read 8:58pm. Is this a valid reason to fight the tickets if I can prove I was in class at 8:58 pm, even though I am technically guilty?

You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

Probably not. I have observed judges allowing a police officer to amend errors on traffic tickets in open court. From your zip code, you reside in Miami-Dade County. I would suggest that you use one of the law firms that specialize in traffic tickets who can probably reduce your potential liability or penalties as a result of your tickets.

Hi:

Time of day is an issue for the Court and requires an evidentiary hearing. However, an officer can always amend up until the time of trial, even orally.
