Legal Question in Disability Law in Florida

I was married to my childrens father for 24 years........1961 - 1985. During that time my children (4) and I were beaten physically, mentally, emotionally......every way imaginable on a daily basic. He thought nothing of raping me on a daily basis during this 24 years, too. I left the day after our youngest son moved out and left for college. I was involved in a horrific vehicular accident in 1998 and have been drawing my Social Security Disability since 2002 or 2003. In 1998 the SSA told me that I would have to start drawing Social Security from Nick. He lives off his retirement from a government contractor but I am told that I cannot touch that. Ned Harlin Maddox (SSN# 424-42-4359) is worth over a million dollars in land and investments. I signed very, very few of the tax returns and checks while we were married, even though I worked part of this time. Isn't that forgery? Nich told me that if I ever tried to touch any of his money he would kill me! I would like to know why I can't draw some of his retirement since I am disabled? I live in Florida; have been here since 1990 (SSN# 262-64-6673) My monthly income is $769.....out of that I pay rent, power, water, phone, cable and my medicine for the month. My oldest son furnishes me a car but I have to put gas in it, pay for the repairs, oil changes and tires for it. Of course, this takes money out of the grocery budget but I manage. There is no other income except for $53 of Food Stamps once per month. Can someone check on this and get an answer back to me? I would most certainly appreciate it.

It is extremely unlikely that you are entitled to anything from your ex some 24 years after the divorce unless it is expressly provided for in the divorce paperwork. The fact that he has done well for himself after the divorce is irrelevant.
