Legal Question in Disability Law in Florida

Can I be terminated for requiring breaks at work?

I had 4 surgeries for bilateral club feet as a child. I'm now 61 years old and have trouble standing for extended periods. I take short breaks between jobs and my boss has noticed and begun harassing me for it. As I perform my duties on time and to the company's satisfaction, do I have any protection from being harassed? If I explain my medical condition, do I have reason to fear being terminated? My work ability is not a consideration. I repeat: my duties are performed WELL.

Re: Can I be terminated for requiring breaks at work?

You probably have an ADA issue and the employer is required to make reasonable accomodations for your disability.
