Legal Question in Appeals and Writs in Florida

I was wondering if someone could answer a question about appeals in Florida. I filed an appeal back in Dec. 2007 to the second district courts of appeal. Do you know when a desicion is normally rendered? Is there something l can file asking the honorable court if there is anything pending or awaiting to make the desicion?

You can check the docket online. If your pleading was deficient, the clerk would notify you at the address that was on the appeal. The court does not accept "letters", only proper pleadings, and it will send you a copy of its decision the day it is signed. The court cannot be rushed.

You should go to the dca website to confirm the filing and receipt of the notice of appeal and to see what action has been taken on the case. Alternatively, you can call the dca. Barring highly unusual circumstances, it would be extremely unusual for a court to take this long to decide the matter.

You say that you filed the appeal in 2007; did you also do what was required of you to pursue the appeal? If you didn't file the record, pay the fees, or do the briefs, the mere filing of an appeal will not bring you any relief.
