Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida

How to bankrupt without any money

We were forced out of our own business because of some bad legal advice and have lost Everything.Having bearly enough money to pay rent, elec., phone etc.

We spoke with an attorney about claiming bankruptcy and he said the charge would be $900.00 up front.

Question : Since we have bearly enough money to survive without being on the street and even though our creditors are threating....how can we claim bankruptcy ? We certainly don't have the $900. that the attorney wants if we can't even pay our rent. What do we do ????

Thanks for your time.

Re: How to bankrupt without any money

The filing fee for a Chapter 7 bankruptcy is only $200.00, which can be paid in installments as long as the debtors do not have a paid attorney. An attorney fee of $900.00 or more to file bankruptcy is not unusual. An attorney is not required to file bankruptcy, but filing bankruptcy without an attorney can create unecessary risks if the debtors wish to retain property following bankruptcy and make sure that all possible debts are discharged.
