Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida

Question on Garnishment and bankrupty

My question is, if I claim head of household and have a dependent in the state of florida, can the credit card company that I owe and is threatening me to garnish my wages, actually do this? Risk Management Alternative Co. is calling me to settle but the amount they want is too much, so Im looking to file Chapter 7 and wipe out my credit card debt. I have 2 kids and a single parent without any child support. Can they take money from me still? Please help.

Thanks

Re: Question on Garnishment and bankrupty

You can prevent them from taking your wages with head of household. Also, bankruptcy should discharge this debt and prevent them from bothering you.
