Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Company name in domain name

If I have a domain name, such as ''microsoftforum'' or something of that sort, could i get in trouble in anyway?

I have a domain name with something similar to that, though it is just a forum for this 'company' and it is not negative or offensive in anyway. Just discussion. If I put ''Unofficial'' and make sure it is known that it is not affiliated with the company, am I OK?

Or should I contact them and ask? No logos will be used either. I see there are many websites up that use company names, even some in very negative ways, but they are still up, which is why I am confused. Thanks.

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

You are ok until they write to you and make a demand for you to cease and desist the use of their name in your forum name. I am not sure what a court will hold, but as a practical matter, you could never afford to go to court against a mega company such as Microsoft and they know it.
