emoployer pay

i have done some labor work for a general contractor, and have not been payed for over a month now he claimed to have a legit business and has never put me on a pay roll. ho owes me 600 dollars. what legal actions can i take to handle this problem.

You should speak with an employment lawyer. If the attorney agrees with you that you have been wronged, they will take the case and seek attorney's fees to be paid by the employer.

If the attorney determines that you were an independent contractor, then you can may be able to file a Claim of Lien as a subcontractor. You will need to review the applicable mechanics liens statutes prior to doing so.
