Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Renting question

I have an expensive video camera that I would like to rent out to others who may have a need for it. What forms, or processes must I go through in order to insure that if the camera is broken or stolen, I will be refunded for the camera either through the renter of through some sort of insurence? In essence, what do I have to do to rent my camera, as a business might rent equipment?

Thanks.

Re: Renting question

You need to draft a rental agreement that gives you the right to collect the full value of the equipment in the event it is lost or stolen. You should buy insurance to cover any loss of the property, and you may want to require a deposit, that is returned upon return of the equipment.

Any time you accept payment in exchange for services you are operating a business and are subject to all rules and regulations as any other business.
