Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Hello, Can you tell me the safest way to send an artwork to a gallery in New York for an evaluation. They are interested in buying the piece but won't ( understandably) buy it sight unseen. My thought is to simply insure the piece for its value.

Any attorney will say the safest way is by personal delivery. Your is a transportation question, not a legal question. Talk to a couple carriers like Fed-X, UPS, etc. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.

There is a question that is important as well. Is the artwork created by you? or is it a piece with an established value that you can prove (i.e. sales receipt, auction receipt, appraisal).

If this is a piece which you have created (and not re-purchased later), then the value you can claim is only the cost of your materials. You should also check with the gallery you are shipping to.
