I sold my restaurant business in June of 06. Today one of my former employees called asking for her W2 form.The new owner bought the corporation not just the assets of the business.We had used a payroll service to handel the weekly payroll. The new owner discontuinied this service after the closing...Question ...Is is his responsibility to get the year end reports and distribute the w2s

The owner of the business has the responsibility to prepare and distribute the w-2s.
