Retail store physically detaining suspected shoplifter

Would i have a legal case against a retail store who's LP guy physically detained an 18 year old girl at night with no witnesses dressed in plain clothes without identifying himself until re-entering the store? She did not shoplift she had her own jacket in her purse, took it out while in the store and put it back while exiting the store.
