Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida

Conctruction Contract

We have a contract to do certain concrete work in Miami - Dade County Florida. Our contract does not have a provision for retainage, now the contractor who hired us wants to withhold retainage. Can we lien for the balance of the contract amount?

Re: Conctruction Contract

Florida's lien laws have specific requirements and conditions which must be met before you can lien any property due to monies owed under a construction contract.

While I practice in this area of law, my location would likely be cost prohibitive to assist you. However, I know of several outstanding Construction Law attorneys in the Miami-Dade area. If you call my office or email me I will be happy to give you their contact information.
