Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida

Home construction

We are currently in the process of building a home. A production home with a large national builders/developer. After our final meeting with the salesman(developer's salesman) and builder, we went over the specs., floor plan, blueprint and all of our upgrades, we signed and dated that we did go over everything. Now it seems that the house blueprint is not the same. They made some changes and are going by those changes. They are saying that We went over everything at the meeting and we signed it. We did not receive any blueprints, we have no proof to show that they are lying. They are saying that we signed and this is the bluprint(the one that we did not approve). We feel very helpless and unhappy with their way of business. We did not use an agent we just delt with sellers agent and the developer.

We are being betrayed, lied to and forced to purchase a home that we did not agree on.

Is there any way to resove this matter ?

Re: Home construction

Absolutely. You have every right to demand what you have contracted for. If the builder/developer remains unwilling to comply with the agreement, you should talk to a construction attorney as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the more it might look like you have consented to the changes being made.

Make sure that you keep copies of all your records, and be sure to send all correspondence to the builder/developer via certified mail, return receipt requested. Best of luck to you, if we can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to give us a call at (954) 229-1008. We'll be happy to speak with you at no charge.

Sincerely,

REILLY ROCHE LLP
