Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

broken furniture

I recently purchased an antique dresser and mirror from a dealer on ebay for $550. He recomended a shipper he works with regularly to bring it from Pennsylvania to Florida for $235. The furniture was in very good condition at time of purchase. When the furniture arrived 8-weeks later the finial on the mirrior was broken almost off,and the dresser was coverd with moving blankets that actually melted into the finish.I refused the furniture due to the damages. He now wants to repair the damage on only the mirror. He insists he is not responsible for the damage from the blankets melting into the dressers finish. This is an antique dresser and mirror from the 1800s .By breaking then trying to repair these old pieces will signficantly bring down their value. I would just like to know how I can go about getting my $550 back. Thank you.

Re: broken furniture

Unless your agreement with the seller included such a right of return or warranty your only recourse is against the mover.
