Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

My car was repossessed because the finance company said it was illegally parked at some apartment complex for 3 weeks. I drive my car to work daily. They repossessed my car from my house. So it turns out, after reading the transcripts, they repo'd my car because the tag was expired (don't judge me) since they didnt find it at the apartments that said it was illegally parked there. The repo people said it was taken for non payment. Can the finance company take my car for expired tag especially when they weren't looking for the car for that reason in the state of Florida?

This does not sound right to me. If the finance paperwork does not give them the right to repo your vehicle because of an expired tag, then they have wrongfully repossessed your vehicle. See my website, www.consumerlawyerhelp.com to find a NACA lawyer in your area.
