Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

Florida. My minor son purchased a car without my consent from an independent owner. He found the vehicle on Craigs list. The vehicle was not registered at the time of the purchase. I understand that in most states, it is unlawful to enter into a contract with a minor child. Is FL one of those states? If so, what is the FL Statute to cite?

No. I think you're talking about a minor's incapacity. Incapacity is a defense to enforcement of a contract when the minor fails to perform his part of the bargain (if he didn't pay and the guy who sold him the car sues him for the money). It can't be used if the minor lied about his age. There are other statutory exceptions (check the Florida Statutes online), and the contract can be reaffirmed at 18. This is general information. For specific legal advice regarding your specific circumstances, you should speak with an attorney.
