Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

My mother (age 86) is the victim of Identity Theft. We have reported it to local authorities and to so call organizations that are suppose to help the elderly in the state, to no avail. We know it was her grandson who lives out of the state that committed the crime. He manage to get an Home Equity Line Of Credit on her home in the amount of $125,000.00, a car loan, and several credit cards. The total amount comes to almost $200,000.00.

All this was done through a bank that is strictly for military or goverment employees. The name of the bank is USAA. My mother has never been in the military and my father who was a veteran died in the early 1960's and I don't think that bank even existed at that time, and to make matters worse my mother is retired and lives on a fixed income of less than $700.00 a month.

We spoke to the bank and told them these accounts were not her's and that they needed to go after her grandson and that she would cooperate with them . The bank has completely ignored her and continues to harass my mother about these accounts, she is already in bad health and worrying about losing her home only makes things worse.

We were considering filing bankruptcy but found it would not do away with the HELOC, but was told to sue the bank, but the problem is we cannot afford to hire an attorney on her income and I lost my business during the hurricanes so I have no income to help her. My question is, if she has a case is their an attorney that would handled this on contingency or is there any organization that can clear this up. In trying to get this cleared up myself I have found that all the government agencies I have contacted are a joke the people just keep passing you on to someone else because they are lazy or incompetent most of these agencies are just a waste of the taxpayer's money. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
