Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

Reposession, How long do I keep the car

I still have a car that was a charge off as of June 2002. I have been told this is the same thing as a reposession, This car has been sitting outside my house since then and has not been registered, insured, or driven since then. I would now like to either get it registered in my name and insured as I am moving and cannot leave the car here. I am the daughter of the previous owner. I kept this car insured for 6 mo. and could not afford to this any longer. My mother was hospitalized for post traumatic depression and unable to pay her payment. I am 21 and have no beacon score. I would consider paying on the loan but can I and I would like to get some kind of idea what is fair for everyone as this car would need alot of work mechanically and cosmetically as it has been sitting for 2 yrs. This car is a 1994.I want to do the right thing. Where do I go from here? I have to move in a week and what do I do with the car?

From what you say, the car is worth less than the cost of repairs. Forget about it. If you know who has the security interest in it, tell them where to retrieve ths car. Do not admit any liability.
