Legal Question in Consumer Law in Florida

Suing Credit Card Company

My husband and I run a small trucking company. I have paid Amex and Bank of America thousands upon thousands of dollars to keep our credit cards going for purchaseof fuel. They have SUDDENLY decided to close them out putting us out of business. 1 thing to note is this is a female owned company (discrimination?) and several people out of work now, w/children and over 55.

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

Unfortunately, I have to believe that there is much more to this issue than you provided herein. It would be extremely unusual for both American Express and Bank of America to "suddenly" close your account without legitimate reasons which caused them to question your credit worthiness. You may wish to review this matter with an attorney, but if you had credit issues with each company, they have the right to revoke any credit they might have previously granted to you.
