Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I am 17 years old and will be turning 18 within a couple of weeks and need some financial aid. My father was never in my life except for a very short while after I was born. My father and mother never married and she never filled for child support. I asked my dad if he would give me some money trying to avoid legal processess but he refused. Is there anything I can do withn Florida state laws to get the child support from my dad that he has owed me for 18 years?

Child support is not owed to you. It was owed to your mother.
