I had an account with a bank in Florida and had refinanced a car and got a loan for 1,000 when my husband lost his job we could no longer make any payments, the car ended up getting reposed and now they have sued me and combined the 2 debts together for the amount now owed which is about 10,000 now i was supposed to fie an answer but did not do so in enough time i see that there is a default against me, what can i do from here to get that reversed and please know that i am a family a three and only my husband is employed we are on a fixed income will the courts even acknowledge this can i get this debt forgiven or reduced? thank-you

Re: bank loan in default

You should file a motion to set aside default and explain why you missed the deadline. In the meantime, you can contact the bank's lawyer and see if they'll accept payments or reduce the debt.
