Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I bought a lemon

after 5 months and 8 trips back to dealer for repairs,I gave the car back. Signed the title back to dealership. Now they are after my wife, who co-signed for me, to pay for the car. What are our legal options? They called our insurance company to file a claim that we had wrecked the car. Adjuster found nothing to support that claim. Do we still have to pay for the car? we never missed a payment nor were we ever late. The owner of the dealership tried to sell us a new car when we gave the other back.

If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

There is a procedure under the Florida Lemon Law and you did not follow it. Your options may be limited. The dealership (or loan company) can probably hold you responsible for the payments on the vehicle. Remember that financing, although often arranged at the dealership is with a third party who is not part of this transaction. You truly need to consult with a consumer attorney as soon as possible to review this matter and learn about your legal rights and responsibilities.
