Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Car dealerships

If I bought a car can I return it to the dealership within a certain timeframe before getting bad credit? It has only been 6 days so far. When I bought the car I traded in my old car and gave a 500.00 deposit. All I want to do is give the car back and maybe get my old car back.

Re: Car dealerships

You are likely out of luck if you think that the deal will be cancelled.

If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

The car is no longer "new" once it leaves the car dealer's lot. Unless the dealer offered you a return policy, there is none provided under Florida law.

If you were to return the car now, there would be severe financial consequences. It might be smarter to try and sell the car and use the proceeds to pay off your loan (if applicable). Then you can do as you please.
