Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

credit card debt

i was incarcerated for a period of 20 mos. i had a credit card that had a balance and i was unable to pay. My question is it legal for them to continue to apply interests and fees to the account (and they continue to do so. Is it just easier for me to sign the settlement and pay what they ask?

Re: credit card debt

you may be able to negotiate the amount depending upon how much it is. if it is alot, it may pay to get an attorney. if it is not alot, you can try to negotiate yourself or pay but yes it is legal to continue the interest and fees
