Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Debt collections

I saw my credit report and there are two medical debt collections on it from September of 2008 for the same debt collection company. One was from a clinic visit in 2002, and the other was for another doctor's visit in 2004. Is there a Florida statute of limitations regarding the amount of time where a medical bill can go to collections? I saw my credit report January 2008 and the debt collections were not on there. I don't know why I was not notified that there were bills due, and why it took years to be reported to a credit agency for two separate incidents (in September 2008).
