Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I am one month late on my car payment. I come home and my neighbor tells me my auto finance company is trying to contact me. She then, out of nowhere, starts saying she will give me money, she will help me get caught up with my bills, etc. What? Why is she offering to help me? What did my finance company tell her? She is and has never been a reference or has her number ever been given as a contact number, Neither her nor I gave them permission to call her. The finance company will not give me a copy of the recorded call unless they are given a subpoena. Is the fact they called her a violation in itself? I can't afford an attorney and make too much to qualify for legal assistance....what can I do?

There is too much to speculate about, but its not illegal in and of itself for the finance company to call your neighbor for the purpose of contacting you. Your auto finance company might not have told her anything - she might have figured it out for herself, which just means she guessed, and she guessed correctly.
