We purchased and automobile for my son about 2 years ago. The loan is in our name the title is in his. We still owe approximately $10,000.00 dollars on the loan. The problem is my son is now $1,600.00 dollars behind in payments to us. What can we do?

Is the lien on the car? Looks like this was a separate loan you took out to purchase a vehicle for him. do you have anything in writing from him as to repayment? Verbal agreements are enforceable if they can be performed within a year. So that defense is gone. However, if you can show that he has been paying you all along, receipts, deposits in your bank, then you could take him to court.
