Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

While in a relationship my boyfriend's parents helped me buy a car knowing I had no money and would not be able to pay them back. My boyfriend told me not to worry about it when I mentioned it. Now that we are no longer together he is insisting that I pay the money back even has called my parents and told them that I will not pay his parents the loan that they gave me. I still have no money and no way to pay them back even if I felt it was not a gift. Am I obligated to pay them? If I had the money I would never have accepted the gift but I am still in a payday to payday situation. I feel that my boyfriend is the one causing the problem since he took every gift he ever gave me when we broke up. Including all the shoes he bought me. His parents have never contacted me and there is no legal or verbal agreement for me to pay them back.

Hi. I would continue to maintain the position that the money was a gift. Let his parents attempt to prove it was a loan, if they choose to do so.
