Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida
unpaid wages
We worked for a charity. Our boss went thru personal & business bankruptsy. He shaved our checks for a year and withheld our last checks by agreeing to pay ONLY if we forgot the years worth of missing pay. This cannot be right.

It isn't right. Once his business filed for bankruptcy, he had no power to make any deals with you. Only the bankruptcy trustee (or trustee committee, if the business was large enough) had the power to do that, and then probably only with the judge's permission.
On the other hand, you may have been lucky to get any money at all. You should speak with a bankruptcy attorney to explain the entire situation to see if there is anything you can do.
