Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

i want to go to the army, but i am dealing with a domestic dispute for battery-should i plead guilty and hope to get a waiver or request that ajudication be withheld or should i take it to trial-i have a past history of arrests of domestic violence, but no convictions with the same person. this time she went to the hospital and they told her she had a concussion,so a trial is probally not in my best interests. I want to change my life around and go in the army and get away from her and be successful-do i have any hope ,what is the best route to take?

The army doesn't care about withholds. A withhold is good for Florida purposes however. If you have priors with other persons and the army is still willing to take you, then I suggest you talk to your recruiter about what would happen if you were convicted of this. You probably will not be allowed in because a domestic violence withhold or conviction will prevent you from possessing a weapon, which of course is a requirement for the army. You should also talk to your attorney about the possibility of a diversion program. If you are eligible and complete the diversion program, then you won't be convicted and you could then join the army. Good luck.
