Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I'm trying to help my boyfriend get his life straightned out. He had a pre-trial hearing yesterday and did not go and now has a warrant for his arrest (I'm pretty sure). What should he do? He doesn't have money for an attorney. Is it to late to have an attorney appointed to him?
