No contact orders and phone calls

Can the police listen in on phone calls when you have a no contact order placed on you? What if you call from a friends phone? What are the punishment for breaking a no contact order????

The police can listen on any phone they have permission to listen on. Violating a no contact order is a first degree misdemeanor punishable by 1 year in jail
