Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Expunging criminal record

Can I still request to have my record expunged for a felony of mine that I plead 'no contest' to. I do not have any priors or any other legal matters pending.

Re: Expunging criminal record

Most likely you will not be able to have the record expunged but you may be able to have it sealed. An expungement is only allowed when a case is either not filed, or dismissed for some other reason.

As long as adjudication was withheld then you would be eligible for a record sealing.

Feel free to give me a ring if you would like to speak further, my office is here in South Florida.

I agree with Mr. Garvin. If you plead no contest, the best relief you would be allowed to seek would a "sealing" of your arrest record. However, you would have had to have received a "withhold of adjudication" from the court.

Please check out my website where I have an entire page on Sealing and Expungements in the State of Florida.

Good luck,
