Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I would like to know if my felony drug possession charge from 17 years ago in Monroe county Florida can be reduced to a lesser charge. It was a small amount and I had to plead guilty. Now 17 years later my back ground check is costing me employment and it makes it look like I was selling drugs. I did the probation and paid the small fine of $300. Can this be reduced? thank you.

I don't see a way that you would be able to get it reduced. However if you received a withhold of adjudication you may be able to get it sealed. I suggest you call an attorney in your area to be sure.
