My husband was working for a used car lot, I have a car through them that was not behind on car payments and the full coverage insurance is up to date, the owner of the lot texted my husband and stated he repossessed the vehicle because his feelings were hurt, what can I do to get my son's car back

You can sue them for breach of contract and for civil theft. You need to talk to a civil law attorney.
